You may want to take into account the Natures of your Pokémon to create the best team needed to conquer the Gym Leaders and Elite Four in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl.
Natures were originally introduced in the third generation mainline games. Whenever you capture, receive or hatch a Pokémon, a Nature will be randomly applied to it. There are 25 in the game, and, aside from Bashful, Docile, Hardy, Quirky and Serious, they will impact the stats of your new pocket monster companion.
The Nature will determine which base stat is given a 10 percent increase and which has a 10 percent decrease in growth rate whenever your Pokémon levels up. This works in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl the same way as any other game, and is something that many players take into account to lend their Pokémon team an edge in battle.
As an example, you should look to make sure that a Pokémon that regularly uses physical moves has a high Attack stat, whereas for one that doesn’t you should strengthen their Special Attack stat.
The only stat that will not be affected by whichever Nature your Pokémon has is their Hit Points (HP).
