If you are looking to create or join a group in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, then we’re here to help offer you a few pointers about how to do so.
Firstly, you will need to head to Jubilife City which is located in the southeast corner of the Sinnoh region – it’s north of Sandgem Town and west of Oreburgh City. Once there, if you run to the fountain which is a short distance from the Poké Center and the Poké Mart, you will see a green-haired Ace Trainer standing near it.
Talk to them, and they will ask whether you would like to join a group. This can be an easier method to battle and trade with your friends. If you mix your records in any Local Room, you will be able to join a group of friends that you have met there. The Ace Trainer will explain that anyone can make a group and anyone can join, even if the process isn’t really outlined clearly to you at any point.
You will simply need to choose the option “I want to make a group” when it appears in your conversation, after which you will need to come up with a name for your group. Remember that you will need to mix records with your friends in a Local Room before you will be able to join a group. That can be quickly done by pressing the Y Button to access the Union Room, or, if you prefer, heading into the nearby Poké Center.
Once you have mixed records with other players, you will start to share your experiences with one another – the most obvious of which being that your friends could start appearing in the programmes broadcast on the televisions in homes across the Sinnoh region.
There’s more to it than that, too. While in a group, the Pokémon that appear in the Pastoria Great Marsh will be the same for all of you, you can work together to all be able to find Feebas at the same location at Mt. Coronet, and the order of Trainers that appear in the Battle Room will be the same for all of you – letting you learn what to expect from each other and share tips about how to conquer your opponents.
