The latest Pokémon Presents video has now been broadcast, with its host The Pokémon Company chief operating officer Takato Utsunomiya guiding us through news about Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, Detective Pikachu Returns, Pokémon GO and more.

2023 Pokémon World Championships

The 2023 Pokémon World Championships will take place at the PACIFICO Yokohama from Friday 11 – Sunday 13 August 2023. News was shared about the special Pokémon TCG promo card and Pikachu plush that competitors will receive, as well as the activities at the event such as the Pokémon Trainer Cruise and Pikachu parades.

From Friday 11 August, you will be able to watch the first episode of Pokémon: Path to the Peak. This short animated series stars Ava, who discovers her natural talent for the Pokémon Trading Card Game alongside her partner Pokémon Oddish. With the support of family, community and newfound friends, she aims to rise to the very top of competitive play.

Detective Pikachu Returns

We were treated to a new trailer and screenshots for Detective Pikachu Returns, which introduced some of the people and Pokémon that Tim Goodman and the “Great Detective” Pikachu will encounter on their latest adventure.

We were treated to a “coming soon” teaser trailer for Pokémon Horizons: The Series, which starts the next chapter of the iconic Pokémon animated series.

Pokémon GO

After Pokémon GO Fest 2023 events in London and Osaka, the next event will be heldin New York between Friday 18 – Sunday 20 August. Later this month, Pokémon GO Fest 2023 Global will be held from Saturday 26 – Sunday 27 August which is “an additional event that can be enjoyed from anywhere.” Those who purchase an in-game ticket will have the chance to encounter Diancie, with Mega Rayquaza to appear in Raids on Sunday 27 August.

It was also announced that from September, Pokémon that were first discovered in the Paldea region will also start to appear in the game.

Pokémon Unite

From 17 August 2023, you will also be able to get Unite License Y Mewtwo which, unsurprisingly, will allow the Genetic Pokémon to Mega Evolve into Mega Mewtwo Y. To commemorate Pokémon Unite’s 2nd anniversary, you can also redeem the gift code 2NDANNIVERSARY until Thursday 31 August 2023. This will reward you with a 3-day limited license for Mew, a 3-day limited license for Mewtwo, a Platinum Mew Boost Emblem and a Platinum Mewtwo Boost Emblem.

Pokémon Masters EX

Nemona and Pawmot are coming to Pokémon Masters EX as the first sync pair from the Paldea region. This special sync pair has the new sprint role, and they excel at attacking quickly.

From 16 August, Victor and Spectrier will appear in-game as a sync pair with the new field role, which, to no one’s surprise, excels at field effects. You can also log in to the game to claim a gift of 3,000 gems to celebrate this Pokémon Presents.

Pokémon Café Remix

The Mimicry Pokémon Tatsugiri is now visiting Pokémon Café, while you can unlock a “summer fun” Jigglypuff as a log-in bonus. There is also a five-star chef “tropical” Vaporeon available, and Paldea region starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly have made a return.

Nintendo Switch Online Classics

Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now play Game Boy Color’s Pokémon Trading Card Game, whereas those subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack can play Nintendo 64 classic Pokémon Stadium 2.

Pokémon Sleep

You will have the chance to meet even more sleepy pocket monsters in a Good Sleep Day in-game event, which will occur on the night of the full moon. On these days, Drowsy Power will be powered up which will help you encounter Pokémon with rare sleep styles.

Pokémon: Paldean Winds Key Art

It was announced that an original animated series set in the Paldea region is out next month. Set to premiere on 6 September 2023, it will follow several academy students “as they come into their own, growing and learning as they attend school.”

Mew and Mewtwo

The Get Mew and Mewtwo! event for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet was revealed. You can receive Mew by entering the password GETY0URMEW in the Mystery Gift menu, which you can then prepare to battle in against Mewtwo with the Mightiest Mark in an upcoming Tera Raid Battle event.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero

It has been confirmed that Part 1: The Teal Mask – the first of the two-part downloadable content for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet – will release on 13 September 2023. New Pokémon were also revealed, such as Dipplin, Archaludon, Raging Bolt and Iron Crown.
