The Pokémon Company International has revealed the special Pikachu plush for the 2023 Pokémon World Championships, which will be hosted in Japan for the first time ever this week.
Those competing at the event will receive the cuddly electric mouse, with its ramen-guzzling design based on this year’s celebratory Yokohama artwork, and it will also be available to purchase at the “largest Pokémon Center Worlds store ever” on-site.
Competitors will also receive a special Pokémon Trading Card Game promo card, which, breaking the event’s trend, is the stadium card Paradise Resort. When used, it reduces the Retreat Cost of each Psyduck in play by one Energy.
With participants to battle for the title of World Champion across Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE, the special animation has looked to celebrate the “international grand stage” that this next Play! Pokémon competition will take place on.
The 2023 Pokémon World Championships will take place at the PACIFICO Yokohama, and is to be held from Friday 11 – Sunday 13 August 2023.
