SEGA has confirmed a western release date for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board!, which will hit Nintendo Switch in the coming months.
Produced by Aniplex, you will have the chance to explore “a dynamic world designed like a board game.”
Based on memorable locations from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime, such as Mount Fujikasane and Asakusa, as the time passes from day to night the spaces of each board change. This brings new events and opportunities for you to discover as you plan your next move.
You can choose from fan-favourite characters like Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira and 9 Hashiras, before competing in multiplayer for up to four players whether that be locally or online.
Nezuko Kamado will also appear as a support character, and you will have the chance to participate in “thrilling” mini-games, meet familiar characters, work together to defeat dangerous demons lurking in the night and aim to become the most powerful demon slayer.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Turns Into A Board Game: The iconic landmarks from the anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, such as Mount Fujikasane and Asakusa, will appear as boards! Roll the dice to advance through the squares! Each board has a daytime and nighttime period. During the day, you will play events and mini-games to prepare for the night, where you will be searching for demons to defeat – aim to become a great Demon Slayer!
- Take Control of Iconic Characters: Players can choose from their favourite characters including Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and the nine Hashira! Nezuko, who cannot be active during the day, appears as a support character to help the players throughout the game!
- Fight Demons By Waving The Joy-Con: Inmini-games where you fight demons such as the Hand Demon, you will be able to swing the Joy-Con like the Nichirin Sword to attack!
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board! will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 26 April 2024.
