The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Becomes Nintendo’s Best-Selling Launch Title, Ever

Nintendo continues to have reason to celebrate the critically-acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, having revealed that the Nintendo Switch version has become the best-selling launch title on any Nintendo console.

That news was confirmed by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, who, in an interview with The New York Times, shared that, excluding bundled titles such as Wii Sports, it had outpaced the popularity that had surrounded Nintendo 64 launch title Super Mario 64.

Nintendo has not shared specific sales numbers for Nintendo Switch or Breath of the Wild, although reports suggest that 80,000 units were sold in the United Kingdom.
