Outright Games and Dr. Seuss Enterprises have shared a gameplay trailer for The Grinch: Christmas Adventures, which releases on Nintendo Switch this month.
Casual Brothers is the developer behind this “vividly colourful, side-scrolling platformer” that takes inspiration from the classic children’s book, How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Accompanied by your faithful dog Max, you must set out on a quest as The Grinch to ruin Christmas for The Whos. That will challenge you to complete dastardly missions to steal all the presents as you confront the spirit of Christmas in Who-ville, from joyful carolling to twinkling fairy lights.
Overcoming puzzles will unlock special abilities and gadgets such as snowballs that can freeze creatures, a Santa disguise for stealthy sneaking, a lasso candy cane and a jumping jetpack. You will also be able to use a sleigh or snowboard to help speed up your devious antics around Who-ville.
Whether playing alone or with a friend in two-player local co-op, as the story progresses you will have the chance to discover the spirit of Christmas and help the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes.
The Grinch: Christmas Adventures will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 13 October 2023.
