Neither Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric or Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal have made an appearance in this week’s Top 40 UK Software Charts, gamers presumably unsettled by glitches, scathing Let’s Play and disappointing Metacritic scores.
With the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS exclusives failing to make their mark – the result of Nintendo’s worldwide partnership with SEGA – the company will instead be looking to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire to drive hardware and software sales throughout the remainder of the year.
Nintendo saw modest success elsewhere, with Tomodachi Life climbing to 17, Mario Kart 8 to 29, while New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Mario Kart 7 re-entered the chart at 37 and 40 respectively.
