Nintendo had confirmed that Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online would be updated with a new game last week in Earthworm Jim 2, but, as with other updates sometimes, it has thrown in extra surprises.
That has seen the company add Super Mario World SP, which lets you “give the world a whole new look,” and Super Punch-Out!! Champion Edition, that lets you take on every circuit and every opponent.
“Now you can see what lies beyond the Special World! In the Super Mario World game, the look of the world helps give the game its atmosphere,” the description for Super Mario World SP reads. “This special version gives that look a twist. Once you clear the Special World and arrive back in Dinosaur Land, you’ll notice things are a little different from how you remember them… Why not start a fresh adventure to see what this strange world has in store?”
Whereas the description for Super Punch-Out!! Champion Edition states: “A punchy line-up of 16 rivals! In this special version of Super Punch-Out!!, you can take on every circuit and every opponent. On top of the Minor Circuit, Major Circuit and World Circuit options, you can also select Special Circuit, which is normally only available to those who have claimed victory in all other circuits.
“In Special Circuit, challengers will face four boxers: Narcis Prince, Hoy Quarlow, Rick Bruiser and Nick Bruiser. If you need to practice up, check Time Attack Mode first! The highest Special Circuit score among the staff at the time of development was apparently 583,550. Think you can beat that?”
Nintendo recently revealed that Nintendo Switch Online now has more than 32 million subscribers.
The pricing plans for Nintendo Switch Online are £3.49 ($3.99) per month, £6.99 ($7.99) for three months or £17.99 ($19.99) for 12 months. There is a 12 month Family Membership for £31.49 ($34.99) that allows a Nintendo Account holder to “invite up to seven others to join a family group” that will all have access to Nintendo Switch Online.
Whereas an individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is priced at £34.99 ($49.99) for 12 months, with a Family Membership priced at £59.99 ($79.99).
