Nintendo 3DS becomes fastest-selling console in Japan

It was unquestionably a faltered start for the Nintendo 3DS, yet recent success following the release of key software titles has surely given Nintendo a confidence boost regarding their latest handheld.

News shared today is set to heighten such confidence, as figures released by Media Create confirm that the Nintendo 3DS has become their fastest-selling console, having achieved five million sales during the 52 weeks since its February 26th 2011 release.

This shatters records previously set by the Nintendo DS (56 weeks), Game Boy Advance (58 weeks) and Wii.
