Hopefully you wouldn’t have deemed it to be legitimate in the first place, but a video purporting itself to be a “leaked” private developer conference for Nintendo’s forthcoming console has now been confirmed to be a fake.

Having hit the internet earlier this week, the video has managed to fetch a staggering 607,439 views – aided by a number of leading videogames websites having reported it. A French blogsite called Strategy Interactive was responsible, setting students the task of making a viral video that could reach a large majority of people within the shortest space of time – I’m sure you’ll agree, they succeeded in that regard.

Still, with just over two weeks to go until Nintendo’s E3 Conference, anticipation is rife for official details regarding the company’s successor to the Wii. I personally can’t wait!
