Mallet-wielding Kirby villain King Dedede has been confirmed as the latest brawler to make his Super Smash Bros. return.

The self-proclaimed king of Dream Land first made a playable appearance in the series with Wii’s Brawl, also becoming an antagonist within the game’s adventure mode, The Subspace Emissary.

He joins Rosalina and Princess Zelda, who were each announced as part of the character roster for the Wii U and 3DS titles last month.

It was previously believed that the games were set for a Spring 2014 release, although this was later clarified as a misquotation. Creator Masahiro Sakurai soon reaffirming his commitment to see them release this year.
