Gearbox: Aliens Colonial Marines on Wii U “not a port”

As one of the few games confirmed for a Wii U release, Aliens: Colonial Marines has been garnering a lot of attention recently.

Whilst senior producer Matt Powers referred to the version as “the Wii U port”, Chris Faylor, Gearbox Software’s community manager, soon abruptly corrected him stating: “I hate that word. The Wii U version is not a port. Remove it from your vocabulary.”

Powers then went on to discuss that “there are interesting things you can do with the Wii U controller”, a generic comment that we’ve heard a lot of recently. “For an Aliens game, you can probably guess what some of those things are”, he added.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to release for Wii U later this year.
