Electronic Arts has confirmed that FIFA 22 Legacy Edition is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

The Legacy Editions are iterative in that they update the game with the latest kits and squads to reflect the most recent changes in the world of football, but do not add any “new game modes or gameplay innovations.”

For example, FIFA 21 Legacy Edition offered “the latest kits and squad updates for the upcoming season, updated presentation (in-game menus and broadcast overlays), but no new game modes or gameplay innovations.”

Meanwhile on current and next-gen consoles such as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, EA Vancouver and EA Romania have used the HyperMotion engine “to deliver the most realistic, fluid and responsive football experience.”

FIFA 22 Legacy Edition will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 1st October 2021.
