Nintendo has revealed that the Super Mario 3D World-inspired courses that appeared in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker on Wii U have been removed in the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS ports.

It’s an odd move, but in their place are the four new Super Mario Odyssey-inspired bonus levels, that take their inspiration from New Donk City in the Metro Kingdom, Mount Volbono in the Luncheon Kingdom, Tostarena in the Sand Kingdom, and Fossil Falls in the Cascade Kingdom.

These can be unlocked through normal gameplay, but those that have a Super Mario Odyssey amiibo figure – whether that be Mario (Wedding Outfit), Peach (Wedding Outfit) or Bowser (Wedding Outfit) – can scan it to access them straight away.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will release for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS worldwide on July 13th, and is now available for digital pre-load on the Nintendo eShop priced at £34.99 (€39.99).
