Yo-kai Watch launches in Australia on December 5th

Nintendo has announced that Yo-kai Watch won’t only see release in North America this year.

Those in Australia and New Zealand should also brace for impact, as the Nintendo 3DS exclusive will launch in the region on December 5th.

Nintendo Australia has teamed up with Hasbro and Channel 9’s GO! channel, which will see the animated comedy series take to the airwaves in December with “innovative play experiences” arriving in Q1 2016. Hasbro’s line will include toys that encourage you to collect medals that each represent a unique Yo-kai.

Yo-kai Watch proved a phenomenon in Japan, where the TV series was the top-animated show on TV Tokyo for children aged between 4-12 years old. Within 18 months, it sold more than $2 billion in retail merchandise and the Nintendo 3DS games have sold more than 8 million copies.

Yo-kai Watch will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on November 6th in North America, December 5th in Australia and New Zealand, with Europe to follow in 2016.
