Nintendo have revealed that by collecting Wonder Wools in Yoshi’s Woolly World, players will be able to unlock uniquely-patterned Yoshis that you can then play as on your adventure.
Collectibles will play a key part in the Wii U exclusive, with Stamp Patches unlocking stamps to use on Miiverse, Smiley Flowers rewarding you with bonus games, and Bead letting you purchase Power Badges – needed to perform powered-up Ground Pounds and to play with woolly canine companion, Poochy.
It will be the Wonder Wools that you’ll want to keep an eye out for, with five hidden within each level. Collecting each will see you revive more than 50 uniquely-patterned Yoshis before your eyes, which you can then choose to play as by visiting Yoshi Hut on Craft Island.
Yoshi will also be able to transform in certain levels, whether that be into the fast-swimming Mermaid Yoshi, a quick-firing Sky Pop Yoshi aeroplane, or a high-speed motorbike as Moto Yoshi.
Yoshi’s Woolly World will release exclusively for Wii U in Europe on June 26th.
