Marking a year since it took the world by storm, Twitch Plays Pokémon has returned to celebrate the social experiment’s first year anniversary.
That has seen the channel revisit the Kanto region, once again tackling an emulated version of Pokémon Red that has implemented a custom romhack that allows all 150 Pokémon to be caught. That’s mainly to allow viewers to achieve the new goal, which is to complete the Pokédex.
That will still rely on them to type keyphrase commands into the channel’s chat window, allowing viewers to control the main character in their continued quest. There are just over 10,000 viewers currently participating, but we’ll have to keep an eye out as to how it all goes.
