Twitch Plays Pokémon reign victorious after just 16 days

Having repeatedly thwarted the Elite Four, Twitch Plays Pokémon viewers have at last delivered the knockout blow to rival Blue.

That took precisely 16 days, 7 hours, 45 minutes and 30 seconds, after more than 22 attempts at tackling the conclusion to Game Boy original’s conclusion, with their party consisting of an Omastar, Pigeot, Venomoth, Zapdos, Lapras and Nidoking.

With more than 100,000 concurrent viewers now declared Pokémon Masters after such period, the question now is what next for the social experiment. For now, the stream teases that “a new adventure will begin” accompanied by a countdown timer that will finish in 26 hours at the time of writing.

With Pokémon Red now bested, many in the chat stream are hoping the anonymous creator will turn their attention to successive entries in the esteemed franchise, so we’ll see.
