Prepare to fight, die or win, with Aspyr announcing that Next Up Hero will see release on Nintendo Switch.

This 2D action adventure is the first game from developer Digital Continue, a studio led by 5th Cell co-founder Joe Tringali – creators of Scribblenauts, Lock’s Quest and Drawn to Life.

Next Up Hero is driven by Community Continue, where players take turns to take on tough-as-nails monsters and, potentially, die as a result. One hero is thrown into combat at a time, and you can revive fallen heroes to fight by your side as AI battle companions, building an army that will help you topple the bosses that you encounter.

As you adventure in the Spiral Shards, where you will battle the marauding Ceaseless Dirge. But, at some point, a flaming blue fireball, mech mortar rocket, or giant spike of doom will cut your quest short.

There are nine heroes with an assortment of weapons and abilities to choose between, whether they wield swords, rocket launchers, laser turrets, bongo drums or boomerangs.

Next Up Hero will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch this fall.
