Super Mario Bros. Movie Returns With Limited Edition SteelBook Blu-Ray
The live-action Super Mario Bros. movie has been given a new lease of life, as online retailer Zavvi has revealed plans to release an Exclusive Limited Edition SteelBook Blu-ray.
The notoriously panned movie sees Brooklyn plumbers Mario and Luigi discover a parallel world populated by the descendants of dinosaurs, who are hatching a dastardly plan to take over our world. It is down to the Super Mario Bros. to defeat the evil King Koopa and his Goomba guards, rescue Princess Daisy and save the world.
The Limited Edition SteelBook Blu-ray will feature a special illustration penned by artist Paul Shipper, and is priced at £15.99 ($20.31).
It will include a brand new 60-minute ‘Making Of’ documentary featuring new interviews with co-directors Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel, producer Roland Joffe, actors John Leguizamo and Richard Edson, writer Parker Bennett, production designer David Snyder, art director Walter Martishius, FX artists Paul Elliot, Vincent Guastini and Rob Burman, visual FX designer Chris Woods, editor Mark Goldblatt and creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos. Phew.
That documentary will have archive interviews with Bob Hoskins and producer Jake Eberts, and those looking to make a purchase can read through the original electronic press kit, behind the scenes and storyboard galleries.
The Super Mario Bros – Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-ray will release in Europe and North America on 13th February 2017.
