“We are working tirelessly to achieve our vision for Star Wars: Hunters. Our ambition is to create a competitive battle arena game that will entertain for years to come. To ensure we meet the high expectations we are setting for fans globally and ourselves as developers, we have made the decision to delay the worldwide launch of Star Wars: Hunters,” the publisher’s explanation began.
“We invite all players to join us on Vespaara when Star Wars: Hunters launches in 2023 on Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices.
“We understand game delays are frustrating, however, our top priority is ensuring players will have the best possible experience in the Arena.
“For those of you who have been able to join us in soft launch, we truly appreciate your support and feedback as we work to make Star Wars: Hunters the best it can be. We will continue to roll out new content updates regularly in soft launch territories until worldwide launch, with our next update coming up within the next few weeks. Thank you for your understanding and we’ll see you in the Arena!”
Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Star Wars: Hunters will connect players in real-time battles across settings that take inspiration from iconic Star Wars locales. The experience promises to “bring players together to engage in thrilling, squad-based, multiplayer battles featuring a diverse array of distinctive new Star Wars characters.”
Choosing from a cast of “unique and idiosyncratic” new characters such as bounty hunters, heroes of the Rebellion and Imperial Stormtroopers, the action game will look to immerse you in fast-paced conflict.
Each Hunter will have a unique fighting style – whether that be Rieve and J-3DI’s lightsaber-wielding expertise, Zaina and Sentinel’s deadeye blaster accuracy, Imara Vex’s arsenal of bounty hunting weaponry, Grozz’s brute strength, the cunning tech of Slingshot’s droideka and Utooni’s resourceful use of scavenged scraps.
Star Wars: Hunters will be available free to download digitally on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch, on the App Store and Google Play worldwide in 2023.
