Shovel Knight carves a path to Wii U and 3DS

Shovel Knight will release through the Nintendo eShop for Wii U and 3DS, it has been announced.

Developer Yacht Club Games snapped promotional banners for the game, which are to be used this week at PAX East. At the base of each, it can clearly be seen that the intention is for the game to release across Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Steam.

Having been spotted, the studio promised further details regarding the reward tiers for the game’s Kickstarter campaign shortly, which is progressing steadily with 26 days to go.

Shovel Knight is described as being “a sweeping classic action adventure game with awesome gameplay, memorable characters, and an 8-bit retro aesthetic. It’s a hot mashup of new and old that may remind you of Mega Man, Castlevania, or Dark Souls!”
