The Pokémon Company International and Niantic have revealed that Rayquaza – and, better still, Shiny Rayquaza – will return to Pokémon GO Raid Battles this week.

For a limited time from 1pm PDT on Wednesday 31st July to 1pm PDT on Monday 2nd September, you will be able to team up to battle the Sky High Pokémon in Raid Battles.

The powerful Dragon and Flying-type Legendary Pokémon remains to be popular with players thanks to the incredible damage that it can deal, and, for the first time, if luck’s on your side your efforts could reward you with a Shiny Rayquaza encounter.

In preparing for Rayquaza’s return, you will want to make sure to build a team with Ice, Rock, Dragon, or Fairy-type attacks, as these will deal super-effective damage. The Legendary Pokémon even has a quadruple weakness to Ice-type attacks. Good luck!
