Nintendo has revealed that Metroid Dread will soon see release on Nintendo Switch, intergalactic bounty hunter Samus Aran’s first new 2D Metroid story in 19 years.

MercurySteam is behind this latest game, which picks up after the events of 2002’s Metroid Fusion on Game Boy Advance. Descending upon planet ZDR to investigate a mysterious transmission sent to the Galactic Federation, she discovers that it has become overrun by vicious alien lifeforms and chilling mechanical menaces.
