After taking a ride in their washing machine, the Rabbids are mysteriously transported to a mythological world of mayhem that takes inspiration from the classic Chinese novel, Journey to the West.
With a story spread across four acts that each occupy a different region on the game board, the Monkey King and his cohorts Pigsy, Sandy and Tripitaka will be challenged to retrace their steps in order to send themselves and the other Rabbids home again.
Ubisoft Chengdu is the developer behind the game – previously known as the China-exclusive release Rabbids Adventure Party – exploring traditional Chinese imagery as it looked to “merge Eastern and Western sensibilities, blending an integral part of Chinese culture with the lighthearted, odd, and at times irreverent nature of the Rabbids.”
You can expect to participate in 50 minigames that may task you with striking silly poses, toppling your opponents, chomping chilli peppers or demonstrating your dance moves. Up to four players can compete against one another locally – whether teamed up in 2-on-2 or as a free-for-all – and you can create custom playlists with your favourite minigames or customise the AI’s difficulty levels to make the game “approachable for any age and fun for the whole family.”
Rabbids: Party of Legends will release at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 30th June 2022.
