The Pokémon Company International and Game Freak have released a new Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield trailer, revealing Galarian Ponyta.
The Psychic-type Unique Horn Pokémon was first seen in last week’s special 24-hour Pokémon Live Camera livestream – which had let viewers observe Glimwood Tangle, a strange forest located deep within the Galar region.
It will appear as a Pokémon Shield version exclusive, and, as the stream had suggested, “have been found in a certain forest of the Galar region since ancient times.”

Galarian Ponyta have been found in a certain forest of the Galar region since ancient times. It is said that they were exposed to the overflowing life energy of the forest over many generations, and this is why their appearance became unique in this region.
Galarian Ponyta can absorb the life energy of the surrounding atmosphere and store it in its mane. It seems that Ponyta’s mane will become more colorful, and even emit a sparkling glow, if there is a lot of energy around.
In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, you will choose between three starter Pokémon – Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble – before having the chance to explore the Galar region – with its idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. Challenging the Gyms in the region, you will once again look to become Champion.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th.
