Pokémon Trading Card Game Online enters open beta

The Pokémon Company have today announced that their player-versus-player Pokémon Trading Card Game Online has now entered open beta phase.

Both new and seasoned Pokémon TCG players will be able to learn, practice, and play the popular trading card game anytime for free, simply by creating a Pokémon Trainer Club account.

Coinciding with such news is the release of the latest expansion for Pokémon TCG, Pokémon TCG: Black & White-Emerging Powers, that features in-pack codes within its theme decks and booster packs that unlock playable virtual cards for Pokémon TCG Online.

The two English version theme decks are now available in stores, with the booster packs hitting shelves on August 31st.

For those interested in checking out Pokémon Trading Card Game Online, you can head to www.pokemon.com/tcgo where you’ll be able to learn the ropes, practice tactics and battle across worldwide opponents.

  1. I was thinking about buying these cards for the first time last week (never got into them the last time I played Pokemon, with Pokemon Silver) and this will determine if I’m willing to pay around $10 for a bunch of (awesome) collectable cards.
