The Pokémon Company International has revealed Pokémon Smile, an app that is now available as a free download on iOS and Android devices.

This has been created to encourage children to develop healthy teeth cleaning habits, incorporating the world of Pokémon into the everyday task of brushing your teeth.

It uses a mobile device’s camera to watch how the player brushes their teeth. Skillfully brush them, and you will defeat cavity-causing bacteria in the game to earn the chance to catch Pokémon.

Guiding players to help them brush all areas in their mouth, they will be encouraged to keep coming back to catch more than 100 species of Pokémon to complete their in-app Pokédex and collect in-app decorative headwear to wear virtually.

Parents can receive notifications from the Pokémon Smile app up to three set times per day, reminding them that it’s time for their children to brush their teeth. They can also set the duration of each toothbrushing session for between one and three minutes, based on their children’s age(s) and needs.

Pokémon Smile is now available as a free download on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices.
