Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, the third instalment within the series, is due to release across Europe this Friday for Nintendo DS.

Within, players will once again take on the role of a Pokémon Ranger as they are tasked with protecting the new region of Oblivia from the nasty Pokémon Pinchers with the help of your partner, Ukulele Pichu. You’ll be able to capture Pokémon by circling them with the Capture Styler through utilising the touch screen, and then combine your forces by using special field move abilities to help you solve problem such as stopping fire to spread or getting over obstacles.

An addition to the series is the ability to call Pokémon to your aid simply by drawing their Ranger Sign on the touch screen. A number of Pokémon are available to support you, including Legendary Pokémo Raikou, Entei and Suicune.

From November 5th, Nintendo are to also offer two Special Missions, “Protect the Blue Sphere” and “Deoxys and the Odd Temple,” for a limited time to players, available via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Here you will encounter exclusive Pokémon that may even be transferred to Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold or SoulSilver Version.
