Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire have shipped 7.7 million copies worldwide

They’ve already been able to celebrate the strongest ever launch for the series in the UK alone, but Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are equally in high demand around the world.

So much so that 7.7 million copies have been shipped worldwide, with Japan’s Famitsu citing an official press release from The Pokémon Company International.

As of last week, a whopping 1,626,284 copies have already been sold in Japan in just over a week since their launch in the country. But Europe is similarly seeing a Pokémon frenzy, with first week sales seeing a 135 percent increase in comparison to last year’s Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
