Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima took time at the company’s financial results briefing to share that Pokémon Red, Pokémon Green, Pokémon Blue and Pokémon Yellow on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console service had been downloaded more than 1.5 million times worldwide.

We can now learn of another milestone, in that Nintendo 3DS exclusives Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire have sold more than 3 million copies across Europe since they first launched way back in November 2014.

The news comes as we await the first news about Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon tomorrow, which Game Freak director Junichi Masuda has indicated could be accompanied with a debut gameplay trailer.
