The Pokémon Company International has confirmed that the products from the Pokémon Center x Van Gogh Museum collection have sold out.

“We apologise to all the fans eagerly awaiting our Pokémon Center x Van Gogh Museum release today,” The Pokémon Company International wrote in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Due to overwhelming demand, all our products from this collection have sold out. We understand this is disappointing to many who were looking to our official email and social media channels for guidance on how and when to purchase.

“We are actively working on ways to provide more ‘Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat’ promo cards for fans shopping at Pokémon Center in the future. Details will be released at a later date. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.”

The brand had launched an official collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum to help celebrate its 50th anniversary and to help introduce new audiences to the work of Vincent van Gogh. Based in Amsterdam, this week has seen the museum start to run Pokémon-themed activities which will come to an end on Sunday 7 January 2024.

That collaboration has also included an exclusive range of Pokémon x Van Gogh Museum merchandise that was to be sold through the Pokémon Center website, which included a special Vincent Van Gogh-inspired Pikachu Plush, Trading Card Game sleeves, Van Gogh-inspired figures of Pikachu and Eevee, Poster Prints, a Jigsaw Puzzle and more.

With no fanfare of it ever being pushed live on the Pokémon Center website to purchase, scalpers have once again swooped in resulting in the entire collection selling out with no plans for it to ever become available again in the future.
