The Pokémon Company has revealed that the pocket monster brand will once again team up with Hatsune Miku for Project Voltage.
This musical collaboration with Crypton Future Media’s Vocaloid megastar will be released under the name Pokémon feat. Hatsune Miku Project Voltage 18 Types/Songs.
From Monday 4 to Thursday 28 September 2023, 18 illustrations will be revealed – one every weekday – that will each be themed around imagining Hatsune Miku as a Trainer with each type of Pokémon. These will be revealed through the official Project Voltage Twitter account.
Fans will know those 18 types to be Normal, Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Fighting, Poison, Ground, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Rock, Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Steel and Fairy, with six illustrators having drawn Hatsune Miku with a partner Pokémon for every type.
Beyond these illustrations, there will also be 18 songs and music videos that will be released one after each other “over several months” on Vocaloid-P’s YouTube channel. These will continue with the same theme but will sample music and sound effects from across the history of the Pokémon series.
The Vocaloid-P that will participate in this collaboration will be announced on Thursday 28 September 2023.
