Nintendo’s Japan success continues

Whilst sales slumped following the surge caused by Golden Week, Nintendo have still retained a healthy position at retail in Japan.

Mario Party 9 remained the best-selling title with the Nintendo 3DS also holding the top spot in the hardware chart, with Sony’s Starhawk being the only new release placing a credible fourth.

Whilst Nintendo 3DS sales halved compared to the previous week to 46,425 units, PlayStation Vita fell to just 6,340 units – the handheld’s lowest weekly total since launch.

The software chart, tracking sales between May 7th-13th, is as follows:
