Our friends at Nintendo World Report took to the airwaves over the weekend to host their sixth annual live podcast telethon, raising funds for Child’s Play.

The day was split into hourly segments, touching on topics such as the Famicom, Nindies, amiibo, Sonic the Hedgehog, and what Nintendo’s future holds, presenting nearly 13 hours of listening material.

Contributions from 101 listeners has seen the website raise $4,736.98, with Nintendo of America matching donations made in the hour that their senior marketing manager of publisher and developer relations Damon Baker appeared. That adds $1,970.13 to the running total, sitting at $6,707.11 to date.

More than $35 million has been raised for Child’s Play since 2003, with the charity seeking to improve the lives of children in hospitals and domestic violence shelters through spreading the power of play.

Donations are still being accepted until Thursday 10th December, so if you’re feeling charitable you can head on over to their website to build the gathered amount.
