Those that are looking forward to enjoying voice chat on Nintendo Switch were already made aware that they would be required to use a dedicated smart device app that would let them invite friends to play online, set play appointments and chat with friends online when playing compatible games.
Now, with Splatoon 2 nearing launch, Nintendo has revealed a Splatoon 2 headset, that has been designed by Japanese accessory maker Hori.
These are based on a headset in Splatoon 2 that has been created by the in-game brand Forge which is a neat tie-in, but there has been some concern about the real-world setup.
That involves three wires that plug into a squid-shaped dongle, with one wire leading into the Nintendo Switch, another into your smart device, and the last being connected to the Splatoon 2 headset. That already sounds concerning, although will be necessary seeing as it will allow players to hear both voice chat channels and in-game audio.
The Splatoon 2 headset will release in Japan on July 21st, priced at 3,840 yen (£27).
