Nintendo has confirmed that its Nintendo Switch Online and general network services are experiencing an outage.

With investigations underway to identify what has happened and restore such services, those wanting to explore the Nintendo eShop to purchase and download digital content will encounter Error Code 2137-7502.

For reference, this error is used to indicate “that there is likely a temporary service outage related to Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.”

First detected at 3.35pm GMT on Tuesday 7th December 2021, in an update that was posted recently, Nintendo apologised for the continued outage and assured that they were still actively looking to restore the service as soon as possible.

Nintendo has confirmed that the underlying problem relates to the widespread issues with Amazon Web Services (AWS) that have been reported throughout the day. While Amazon has acknowledged that the cause has been identified and shown “some signs of recovery,” no timescale has been given for when it will be completely resolved.

“Due to a failure with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Switch network services are not operating properly,” Nintendo explained. “It will take some time to resolve this issue. We apologise for any inconvenience, but please wait for its recovery.”
