Nintendo have been revealed as an official sponsor of the Evo 2014 Championship Series, joining other companies such as ATLUS, Bandai Namco, Twitch, and Xbox.

Competitors will be playing Super Smash Bros. Melee after the GameCube classic’s success at last year’s event, breaking viewer records, helping to double attendees, and raising plenty of money for charity. That was despite Nintendo of America initially moving to block the event from streaming any footage from Melee, before later reversing their decision.

Evo 2014 takes place later this week between Friday 11th – Sunday 13th July, and will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and Casino.
