You can now watch this week’s Nintendo Minute episode, in which Nintendo of America’s Kit Ellis and Krysta Yang play Who’s That Pokémon? using the upcoming New Pokémon Snap.

That sees the duo challenge themselves to guess Pokémon from their silhouettes in an effort to help them prepare for the anticipated sequel which is out later this month.

In New Pokémon Snap, you will have the chance to explore the beautiful isles of the Lental region, an untouched natural archipelago filled with diverse ecosystems from dense jungles to vast deserts. It’s also packed with Pokémon, and, as a budding Pokémon photographer, you will work with Professor Mirror and his assistant Rita to photograph Lental Pokémon thriving in nature.

When visiting an island, the NEO-ONE will be auto-drive you around different paths on the island to free you up to focus on snapping the perfect shots of wild Pokémon. They may be seen “living in groups patrolling their territory, wandering serenely on their own, flying across the vast sky, or even playing with other Pokémon species,” and you will be able to interact with them by throwing fluffruit to catch their attention.

Some Pokémon and vegetation that you discover may even emit a special glow, which are strange occurrences known as the Illumina phenomenon. You will need to uncover the secret behind this mystery, with Professor Mirror evaluating and scoring your photos.

Your photos will be evaluated based on their subjects’ poses, how large they appear, how directly they’re facing you and where they fall in frame. You will need to take many photos and use their highest-scoring shots to fill out their Pokémon Photodex.

New Pokémon Snap will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 30th April 2021.
