Following the announced demise of Nintendo Power, Future Publishing have confirmed that they are to also cease publication of Nintendo Gamer.
Having stretched across a twenty year history, the magazine has undergone various name alterations having first existed as Super Play, then N64 Magazine, NGC Magazine, NGamer and then rebranded as Nintendo Gamer late last year.
In wishing to continue to build upon the company’s digital footprint, Future will still continue the magazine’s website.
“After careful consideration we’ve taken the decision to close Nintendo Gamer magazine,” explained publisher Lee Nutter. “However, with Future’s ongoing strategy to drive digital growth across its international, digitally-focussed brand business, the website, Nintendo-Gamer.net will continue as excitement builds ahead of Nintendo’s Wii U launch.”
Sad news indeed.
