Nintendo eShop Update: 9th March 2017 (North America)

This week’s Nintendo eShop update for North America is packed with content across Nintendo Switch, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

Blaster Master Zero will attract the most attention with Inti Creates having remade Sunsoft’s original NES version, while other highlights include Bomberman 64 on the Wii U Virtual Console service, and rhythm game VOEZ on Nintendo Switch.

Metal Slug 3 is an action game released by SNK in 2000. It is actually the fourth entry in the METAL SLUG Series of games. Players will be able to use four different characters as they take to the battlefield with an array of weaponry. New Slugs such as a Drill Slug will also show up in gameplay, leading to even more fierce and exciting action!

  • ACA NEOGEO NAM-1975, Hamster Co. – $7.99

NAM-1975 is an action game released by SNK in 1990. It was one of the first ever games released on NEOGEO! Players will take on the role of U.S. Special Forces soldiers braving a harsh battlefield as they try to survive a series of deadly firefights. Players will need to use collectible power-ups and other abilities such as their evasive roll to complete their mission!

  • ACA NEOGEO Shock Troopers, Hamster Co. – $7.99

Shock Troopers is an action game released by SNK in 1997. Players take part in a rescue operation for Dr. George and his granddaughter who have been kidnapped by the evil organization Bloody Scorpion. The game features the ability for players to choose which route to progress, adding even more replayablity to the title.

  • ACA NEOGEO The King of Fighters ’98, Hamster Co. – $7.99

The King of Fighters ’98 is a fighting game released by SNK in 1998. In the previous installment KOF ’97, the story of the “Orochi Saga” reached its exciting conclusion. As a result, the next entry in the series THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’98 was released as a dream match version of The King of Fighters series.

It is one of the most popular and well known versions of the game, partially thanks to the many balance changes that received high praise from fans around the world.

  • ACA NEOGEO Waku Waku 7, Hamster Co. – $7.99

Waku Waku 7 is a fighting game released by SUNSOFT in 1996. Players will control characters who have one of 7 WAKU WAKU balls that grant wishes, and gather the remaining balls. Let’s gather power in exciting gauge, and attack all over with the personality-rich technique of each character!

  • ACA NEOGEO World Heroes Perfect, Hamster Co. – $7.99

World Heroes Perfect is a fighting game released by SNK in 1995. 16 characters based on historical figures battle it out to decide who is the strongest. New elements such as hero gauge, extra attack, and guard attacks have been added to this version, leading to more exciting matches!

  • Blaster Master Zero, Inti Creates – $9.99

Blaster Master Zero is an 8-bit-style action-adventure game that hearkens back to the golden age of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Using the original 1988 NES game Blaster Master from Sunsoft as a base, the new game introduces new areas and bosses, new gameplay elements such as extra sub-weapons, improved gameplay, a more robust scenario and expanded exploration mechanics.

  • VOEZ, Flyhigh Works – $25

VOEZ is played by touching falling notes in time with the music. Set in a fictional town named Lan Kong Town, which is modeled after Yilan in Taiwan, the story is centered around 6 high school students who form a band that eventually achieves international fame. Gameplay is simple, requiring players to touch vertically falling notes that have hit a bar on the bottom of the screen. Depending on the song, the number of lanes for the notes increase and shift side to side, making the screen look as if it is dancing to the music.

Virtual Console (Wii U)

  • Bomberman 64, Konami – $9.99

In the Adventure mode of this Nintendo 64 action game, guide Bomberman through 24 areas of perilous conflict. Battle sinister allies, destroy their bases and put an end to the insane attack. Play the multiplayer Battle mode for an endless supply of explosive action!
