Nintendo have announced plans to release an official GameCube controller adapter for Wii U.
The news stealthily came at the conclusion of a new video detailing the players, announcers, host, rules and playable characters at the company’s Super Smash Bros. Invitational, which is set to rock the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.
No other details were shared about the peripheral other than that it is on the way, although the supporting images suggest that it will require two of the console’s USB ports and that Nintendo will release a new Super Smash Bros. branded GameCube controller to purchase.
Suepr Smash Bros. will release across Europe and North America on 3DS this summer, and Wii U in winter.
