Nintendo have today announced that they are to release 3D Classics: Kid Icarus for the Nintendo eShop service on 3DS.
As with previous titles in the 3D Classics range, this will be a remastered version of the NES original with 3D visuals. It is to be offered to Japanese Club Nintendo members as a free download, although there was no confirmation as to when it would release in Europe and North America.
If you missed the Nintendo Direct conference regarding the latest Nintendo 3DS information, it is still available to watch here.
Free download? Whoa, whoa, whoa… I have almost a thousand points (after spending on all the stuff I actually want), so I’m all for a free download in the US (and other regions… but NoA Club Nintendo thing has never given off free games for stuff they sell normally for cash… but other regions have). Come on Nintendo… at least release it outside of Japan.
I imagine it’ll be used as promotion for Kid Icarus Uprising in Europe/ North America too, so free over here 🙂
