The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have released a new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield to coincide with the 2019 Pokémon World Championships.

This breaks down new battle mechanics that will be introduced in the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusives, such as Galarian Weezing’s Neutralizing Gas that neutralizes the ongoing effects of other Pokémon’s Abilities and prevents Abilities from being triggered.

There are two new items in Room Service and Eject Pack. When held by a Pokémon, Room Service will lower the holder’s Speed when the move Trick Room is successfully used.

Whereas, when a Pokémon holding Eject Pack has any of its stats lowered, it will immediately switch out so you can send in another Pokémon from your team.

In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, you will choose between three starter Pokémon – Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble – before having the chance to explore the Galar region – with its idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. Challenging the Gyms in the region, you will once again look to become Champion.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide on November 15th.
