Neon Genesis Evangelion theme used in Wii U advertising

Japan is renowned for its love of karaoke, and Wii U exclusive Nintendo x JoySound Wii Karaoke U once again takes a turn in the spotlight within this latest advertisement for the console.

It sees Neon Genesis Evangelion’s opening theme song “Cruel Angel’s Thesis” sung by Japanese Jazz singer Aki Yashiro, the cult anime’s track having originally been recorded by Yoko Takahashi.

Yesterday saw the discovery of a £10,400 Wii U karaoke system that uses the software, sold by Xing.
