You play as William Crinkle in this story-driven first-person horror game, who, after discovering a mysterious book, soon comes to learn that it has an evil agenda.
As you start to read through it, you realize that you are no longer alone and that goblin-like creatures known as Urklings are coming for you.
With a taste for the flesh of children, only spotting the creatures in time will result in them being banished.
However, the only way to truly defeat them and free yourself from this fiendish nightmare is to keep reading and finish the book that binds them.
