Maximum Games has announced that they have signed what they refer to as “a definitive agreement” to acquire Avanquest Software Publishing.

Avanquest will now operate under the Maximum Games name, with the acquisition seen as an integral step in the Maximum’s growth strategy to expand distribution of their games to a worldwide audience.

“We look at this exciting next step as the most effective way to broaden the reach of our video games, offering our studio partners the same focus and attention in Europe as we currently offer here in North and South America,” comments Maximum Games CEO Christina Seelye.

Avanquest Software Publishing managing director Steve Powell adds, “Becoming part of the Maximum Games family is a perfect fit for us. Maximum Games has experienced exceptional growth and has an ethos and long-term vision that’s shared by us.”

Maximum Games have published a catalogue of games across multiple platforms, such as the recent Alekhine’s Gun, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, and Putty Squad.
