Mario Kart 8 has rocket boosted Wii U hardware sales across the UK by 666 percent, allowing the title to secure second place in the all-formats chart behind Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs.
The kart racer achieved the highest week one sales for any Wii U title since the console’s launch, which was the second best in the history of the series. Chart-Track also shared that the Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack was responsible for 82 percent of sales achieved for the week.
While Nintendo will feel positive about their success, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD was able to drive Wii U sales by 685 percent at launch therefore a repeat indication that we don’t really have any understanding at just how high sales have been able to soar.
