Magic Reshapes Reality In Unsung Story On Nintendo Switch

Little Orbit has announced that Unsung Story is in development for Nintendo Switch, a tactical RPG that is a spiritual successor to a storied line of games that Yasumi Matsuno has designed throughout his career.

Taking place in a medieval fantasy world where spells are cast as songs and magic can reshape reality, such powers presented a threat to the world – even though the original shapers created a way to stabilise it.

History has been sung and recorded in magical schools around the world since the beginning of time, and Unsung Story will open at the end of a 77-Year War. It will follow a squad of ageing heroes as they are given a covert mission to infiltrate the archive of a nearby school and cast a legendary spell that may turn the tide of the conflict.

After a backlash when Kickstarter backers realised that it will cost extra to change to Nintendo Switch as their platform, Little Orbit has explained that Nintendo charges a fee for every digital code that the publisher requests.

“I publicly stated we would allow all backers to choose any platform of their choice – including the new console editions we have added,” Little Orbit CEO Matthew Scott explained in a Kickstarter update.

“However, Nintendo charges us a fee for every digital code we request from them for Nintendo Switch. Since we did not get any of the Kickstarter funding, that means we would lose money on each and every copy of Unsung Story for Switch chosen by backers. This is why we had to add the surcharge.”
